Google Base - Is it the future platform for Google Auction?

Google Base..! It does not need introduction of any kind. It is the easiest way to get your publication to millions of people around the globe with minimal effort. Varieties of areas are there for people to search or even sell products or merchandise via Google Base. It won’t be surprising to see Google extending its platform, invite buyer and seller under one site to commit their business transactions.

Is Google a baby step away from its own Google Auction or GoogleBay platform? It has got its own payment channel, analytics and market campaign.
